Shell-ebrating Richard Taylor on His Birthday

This January 4th, we pause to remember and celebrate our friend and colleague Richard Taylor—a kind and generous person, a passionate technologist, and someone whose curiosity and joy for discovery infused the spirit of Ideate Software.

Richard had a unique gift for finding delight in the unexpected. Whether he was spotting a beautifully proportioned building tucked between two modern façades, or catching an unusual train rumbling down a track, he loved stumbling on small surprises in the world around him. Those moments of wonder were contagious, reminding all of us to slow down and notice the details that make life—and design—special.

To celebrate Richard’s birthday, we’ve tucked a few Easter Eggs inside our Ideate Software tools. They’re fun, lighthearted nods to the things he loved—and yes, they’re intentionally hidden. You might stumble upon one while working through your daily tasks, or maybe you’ll go hunting. Either way, if you find one, we hope it brings a smile.

These small surprises are our way of keeping Richard’s spirit alive in our products and sharing a moment of joy with the community he cared about so much.

So, here’s to Richard—his passion, his humor (and puns!), and the inspiration he continues to give us.

We miss you!
