"No Good View Can Be Found" Error Message

Starting with the October 2015 release of Ideate Explorer for Revit, all view-specific elements, including those that have been made invisible, are found and revealed by double-clicking the element. For hidden elements, Ideate Explorer will open the view and provide the option of using the “Reveal Hidden Elements.” Learn more by reading Show Building Elements for Precise Revit Modeling with Ideate Explorer.

If you get the "No Good View Can Be Found" message, the object is not view-specific*, and it is not displayed in any view within the project.

Check these things when evaluating such elements:

  • Elements that are part of a Design Option or Phase may not yet be shown within any view. Select the items in Ideate Explorer, and then review them within the Revit Properties palette to assess whether this might be the case.
  • Some model elements or CAD links or imports that are not view-specific could be hidden in all views. Here are some methods for revealing such elements:
  • Create a new 3D view and ensure there isn't a crop box specified
  • Review the Visibility Graphics tab to ensure worksets are visible within the new view

*Dimensions made during sketch mode for elements like floors or filled regions are exceptions to this rule.
