Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Receive telephone and e-mail requests for price quotations and orders
    • When issuing quotes and orders, make sure the products and quantities are correct
    • Follow up with the customer on ALL quotes and proposals that you issue
    • Make sure all the correct and essential information is on a sales order, so the order can be processed efficiently
    • In a competitive or special situation, be creative to close deals while trying to maximize the gross profit of the deal
  • Accurate database and profile opportunity
    • Profile the customer
    • From the profile, do a quick needs assessment on the customer
  • Using reports from CRM, call customers on the following items:
    • Current promotions
    • Ideate Software training classes
    • Important announcements that affect their software
    • New product offerings from Ideate Software
  • Enter all appropriate information into CRM
    • Enter in a sales event with account notes for all sales calls and e-mails
    • On your quotes, enter in your best estimation closing date, so forecasts and reports can be generated
    • Fill in all the important data fields for customers and contacts when profiling
  • Send customers information to help move the sale process along
    • Send appropriate product literature on our software and services
    • Send customers any other information that may help them make a decision (i.e., website links, information about web and live events, software trial versions, press releases, success stories, etc.).
  • Customer Service
    • Work with all resources to answer any questions for the customer
    • Work with all resources to help solve any issues for the customer
    • Get answers and information to customers in a timely manner
  • Always recommend products and services solutions designed to help customers achieve their objectives
  • Keep yourself informed of any new products within the industries that you sell to
  • Keep yourself informed of all promotions that are available to our customers within the industries that you sell to
  • Be aware of all the product literature that is available to you from our vendors, partners, and within Ideate Software
  • Know your team, know the product strengths of the application specialists and your fellow Ideate Software sales people, and know your contacts at our vendors and partners
  • Send quotes for subscription renewals to customers

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of high-tech software sales experience
  • Tele-sales experience – this is 95% via phone
  • A proven track record of consistent quota attainment or overachievement of sales targets
  • Successful solution selling with a focus on selling technical software
  • Management of cross group relationships within company, i.e., IT, Engineering
  • Technically adept and able to quickly assimilate complex technical solutions
  • Multi-level selling skills with the ability to discuss at C-level
  • Strong networking skills
  • Exemplary presentation skills with previous experience of demonstrating software solutions to both executives and technical audiences
  • A strong team player across the related internal business functions
  • Participated in formal sales training programs, such as TAS

  • Passionate about the products and services and a love of selling
  • Straightforward, honest, team player

  • Develop territory sales strategy and deliver results
  • Manage the sales cycle from lead generation through close and post-close implementation
  • Assess customer needs and solve their problems by providing software/consulting solutions
  • Act as a trusted advisor for our clients by establishing long-term partnerships
  • Consistent forecasting of revenue through skilled lead identification and qualification
  • Maintain detailed notes of all client communications within our CRM database
