Tech Fridays – A Winning Strategy

If you find that your staff is under-driving processes and not using software to its full potential, consider scheduling frequent Tech Hours or Tech Fridays to review tips and tricks as a team and with software vendors.

As part of my role as a customer success manager, I frequently deliver online-based workshops to customers with a goal of ensuring that everyone has a solid understanding of how all our Ideate Software tools can be used as part of their daily Revit workflows. Besides delivering training programs to meet their needs, I also lead post-mortem discussions to talk about how the workshops went and how we can improve for the next set of workshops.

I recently completed some Enterprise workshops with ZGF. During my post-mortem discussion with Associate Trevor Taylor, I thanked him for doing such a great job of gathering a large, attentive audience that was engaged during the presentations and discussions. Part of the ZGF Design Technology group’s strategy is to have Tech Fridays, which include discussions about Revit, Revit add-ins, rendering, techniques employed on projects, outside vendor visits, and more. The Design Technology group meets every Friday via MS Teams for these discussions and posts the recordings on their channel using Microsoft Stream. As Trevor put it, “Attendance is up, people are engaged, they’re asking great questions, and we’re capturing our discussions.”

Tech Fridays - Ideate Software

If you find that your staff is under-driving processes and not using software to its full potential, consider scheduling frequent Tech Hours or Tech Fridays to review tips and tricks as a team and with software vendors. Having attended and presented at many of these sessions over the years, I can assure you that this is a winning strategy for successful software implementation and continued adoption.
