Search Building Elements in Revit with Ideate Explorer

Search Building Elements in Revit with Ideate Explorer

The Search text box filters the elements displayed in Results.  The method works separately for the “Explore” Read: Explore the Annotative Revit Model and Elements with Ideate Explore and “Navigate” Read: Navigate View-Based Elements within Revit with Ideate Explorer tabs, meaning different text searches can be active simultaneously on these two tabs.

Entering Search Terms

Type a word or partial word into the Search text box and select the Search button (Binoculars).

Text Searched

Ideate Explorer searches the following text associated with each building element in the Revit information model:  Category name, Family name, Type name, Instance name, Text value.

For a more detailed search, including parameter values, use the Ideate Query or the Filter Drop-downs, Read Filter Dropdowns to Manage Revit Elements in Ideate Explorer.

Clearing Search Terms

Selecting the Search button (Binoculars) again will re-set the Results to its previous state.
