How Can I Create a Custom Filter in Revit with Ideate Explorer?
Explorer includes both Ideate Filters and Revit filters as ways to limit the elements displayed. To customize the Ideate Filters, refer to Customization > Filters - Explorer
To customize Revit's View filters review the Autodesk Wiki on Creating Filters for Revit. These filters can be transferred to your project template file via the Transfer Project Settings tool.
Custom Revit Filter Examples
- "MEP Devices" filter where the Communication Devices, Data Devices, Fire Alarm Devices, etc. categories are included
- "Exterior Walls" filter where the Wall category is included and the Filter rule has the Function parameter equal to "Exterior"
- "Cast-in-Place" filter where the Structural Columns, Structural Foundations, and Structural Framing categories are selected and the Filter rule has the Structural Material parameter equal to "Concrete - Case-in-Place Concrete"
