Basic Rules in Ideate ViewCreator for Revit

Within the \Basic Rules folder that ships with Ideate ViewCreator you will find the rules listed below. These are the rules that, by default, will automatically import into your Revit project the first time that ViewCreator is used. You can create your own rules and/or relocate this folder to a network location. Learn more about Default Rules.

The Basic Rules that have capitalized names are unique to their methods, meaning the rule called “LEVEL” will only work when the Plans to Level method is used. Rules that are not capitalized are set up to work with more than one method.

Method-based rules within the Basic Rules folder are:

The *ROOMS rule has special view-naming functionality and is currently the only rule designed to work with linked room-view names. Rules with the * in the front of the name are named this way to force to the top of the list as a favorite.

Multi-method rules within the Basic Rules folder are listed below. The rule called “*My Default” has an * to make it display first in the list.

Bonus Rules in Ideate ViewCreator for Revit

The Bonus Rules folder exists within the same \root folder as the Basic Rules. The folder contains supplemental out-of-the-box Rules that can be imported into your projects to support additional view creation tasks.
