CUSTOM INTEGRATION

  1. Open your company’s BIM 360 Account/Hub.  Go to Account Admin < Settings

  1. Top Panel Bar > Custom Integrations

  1. Left Panel > Add Custom Integration

  1. Leave “Select Access’ checked for both BIM 360 Account Administration and BIM 360 Document Management.  Click “Next”.

  1. Select “Invite a developer”.  Type [email protected] in email field.  Click “Send”.

  1. After clicking “send”, the Account Admin > Settings > Custom Integration screen will look like this.

  1. After Ideate Software has approved the custom integration, the Account Admin > Settings > Custom Integration screen changes.  Click “Approve”.

  1. Congratulations, the App is connected.  Cards can now be created.

TROUBLESHOOTING CUSTOM INTEGRATION

  1. Custom Integration Tab is greyed out. (Step 2 — Getting Started).

Please take the following steps (REQUIRED):

  1. Send an email to this Autodesk email address:  [email protected]

  2. Add the following three items of information (closed dots below) to the email for the BIM 360 Account/Hub you will be using for Ideate BIM 360 Dashboard:
  1. Autodesk will send the Account Admin an approval email and Account Admin > Settings > Custom Integrations will no longer be greyed out.

2. Resend Invitation — Ideate Support may ask you to resend invitation to Autodesk (Step 6 — Gettting Started).

 

PROJECT SELECTION — DASHBOARD LOCATION

  1. Go to BIM 360 — https://b2.autodesk.com/access.
  2. Select the project for the Ideate BIM 360 Dashboard.
  3. Go to the project selected > Project Home.

CONFIGURE PARTNER CARD 

ADDING A PARTNER CARD TO PROJECT HOME PAGE

  1. Add a Partner Card — 
    • Click on “Customize” (Gear Icon) in the top right of Project Home page.

  1. Place the card in the desired screen location (Home Page).  Location can be modified by drag and drop method.
  2. Click “Save” — upper right of Home Page to save Partner Card and location.

 

STOPLIGHT KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR (KPI)

  1. Within the newly created Partner Card. Click on “Configure”

  1. Type in Card Title —  “Revit Warnings KPI”.
  2. Type in Partner URL — https://ideatesolutions.com/stoplight.html
  3. Click on “Save”.

  1. Login — Purpose:  Autodesk requires authorization to view the data within the BIM 360 project environment.
    1. Click on “Login”

  1. Select “Autodesk Sign in’.

  1. Select “Allow” to access your BIM 360 project data.

  1. In the existing Partner Card, a “Finish Configuring Your Card” dialog appears.

Step 1 — Click “Copy URL to clipboard”.

Step 2 — Click on Gear (upper right hand corner of card.  Select “Configure”.

Step 3 — Replace the existing Partner URL with the copied URL and click “Save” .  

TIP:  Use Ctr + A (select all) and Ctr + V (copy from clipboard).

  1. Make sure you save location and URL by clicking on “SAVE” in upper right corner of Project Home.
  2. Select the project first and then the file for the Stoplight Key Performance Indicator (KPI). See FAQ if you have questions.

STACKED BAR — WARNINGS PER MEGABYTE FILE SIZE

Note:  Warnings per megabyte file size is meant to provide a metric that compares different Revit files against each other, independent of relative file size.  For this release we will be using the metric of 1 warning per megabyte (shown by a red dashed line on a stacked bar graph).  The stack bar graphs show the top five (5) within a given project folder.

  1. Within the newly created Partner Card. Click on “Configure”

  1. Type in Card Title — “Warnings per MB”.  
  2. Type in Partner URL — https://ideatesolutions.com/bar.html
  3. Click on “Save”.

  1. Login — Purpose:  Autodesk requires authorization to view the data within the BIM 360 project environment.
    1. Click on “Login”.  If the highlighted area says Logout, then proceed to Step 8 below.

  1. Select “Autodesk Sign in’.

  1. Select “Allow” to access your BIM 360 project data.

  1. In the existing Partner Card, a “Finish Configuring Your Card” dialog appears.

  1. Make sure you save location and URL by clicking on “SAVE” in upper right corner of Project Home.
  2. You can choose from different projects and from different sub-folders in BIM 360 Document Management folders > Project Files.

STACKED BAR — TOTAL WARNINGS COUNT

Note:  The stack bar graphs show the top five (5) within a given project folder.

  1. Within the newly created Partner Card. Click on “Configure”

  1. Type in Card Title — “Total Warnings Count”.
  2. Type in Partner URL — https://ideatesolutions.com/count.html
  3. Click on “Save”.

  1. Login — Purpose:  Autodesk requires authorization to view the data within the BIM 360 project environment.
    1. Click on “Login”.  If the highlighted area says Logout, then proceed to Step 8 below.

  1. Select “Autodesk Sign in’.

  1. Select “Allow” to access your BIM 360 project data.

  1. In the existing Partner Card, a “Finish Configuring Your Card” dialog appears.

AGGREGATOR PROJECT

The purpose of an Aggregator Project + Partner Cards is to see the whole, or selected projects within the company BIM 360 Account.

  1. Create a new project in BIM 360 (Contains no Revit files — an empty project):
    1. Name:  Aggregator Project (or other name that fits into the company’s needs).
    2. Verify Account, and Project level permissions (Account Admin will have full rights).
    3. Follow the steps to add Partner Cards (Stoplight, Bar, Count) at the Home Page of the Aggregator Project.
    4. Add additional cards for each Revit project into the Aggregator Project.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  1. Permissions — must have project and folder level permissions to see Partner Card.
  1. Partner Card Disappears — the most likely cause is because the Card was not saved.
  1. Is it possible to be in one project and display the warnings in another project?
  1. Custom Integration is greyed out during setup.
