Within the Browse tab of IdeateApps>Annotate you can view and edit Revit annotation elements on a per project, per view or per sheet basis to ensure documentation meets the project standards for the deliverable. The Browse and Revit tabs have many shared functions, as described in Using Ideate Annotate. In this topic we will cover the functions that are unique to the Browse tab.
Which annotative elements are displayed within the Browse tab?
Why are some elements italicized?
The list of elements supported by Annotate is defined to include any element that belongs to only one view. For this reason, datum elements, such as grids, levels, section markers, callouts and reference planes are excluded from Annotate. Elevation marks are supported and include some special handling to accommodate this unique annotative element.
Detail Groups and Detail Lines are included, while Model Groups and Model Lines are excluded.
When the Display drop-down is set to Active View you may see some elements displayed in italics. This is an indication that those elements exist within the active view, but are not visible. Review these elements carefully. If the elements are important to your documentation you can select the XRay button to learn why they are not visible. If there are many elements with this condition you may want to use the Review tab to see which can be safely deleted if not needed.
