What is a Key Schedule

The creation of Revit schedule keys can be particularly valuable when managing large volumes of data and is often used for Room Finish Styles, Hardware Groups, Space Styles (Electrical Load density), etc.

  1. Create a key schedule within Revit by going to View   Schedules   Schedule/Quantity and then selecting the "Schedule Keys" option after picking the appropriate object category.  The screenshot below shows a door-based key schedule called "Door Style Schedule"
  2. Learn how to create new schedule keys (rows) with Ideate BIMLink or within the Key Schedule, you can select the New Row tool and add as many rows as required to match your existing Excel spreadsheet.
